Save, Spend, Splurge? | Concealers

When it comes to base products, we're often told it's worthwhile to invest in products from the more expensive end of the scale. Whilst I find that buying foundations from the pricier end of the high street (Revlon instead of Rimmel, for example), this is not always the case with concealers. Today I'm comparing three concealers from three different price ranges, to see which is truly worth a purchase.

SAVE: COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER - €5.49, BOOTS

This is a huge beauty blogger favourite, because it's high coverage, lasts well and is just over a fiver. They've actually bumped the price up a few euros since I first bought it, but it's still a good price. The lightest shade (01 Fair, pictured above) also doubles as a handy little highlighter, with added coverage. The packaging's not great - a little tube with a doe-foot applicator (which might be a little unhygienic when dabbed from blemish to blemish) and the writing on the tube rubs off within a few uses, but inside it houses a pretty darn good product!

SPEND: SEVENTEEN PHWOARR PAINT CONCEALER - €6.99, BOOTS

It is only roughly two euros dearer than the Collection offering, but in my opinion, the Seventeen Phwoarr Paint is worth every penny. It's also high coverage, but creamy, and blends really easily. It works well at eradicating dark under eye circles, and covers blemishes seamlessly, leaving a really flawless finish. This is my pick of the bunch, I'm head over heels in love with this and will definitely repurchase it time and time again! The packaging is that bit better than the Collection one, too - it comes in a cute little monochrome compact, complete with a handy little mirror.

SPLURGE: BENEFIT BOI-ING INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH CONCEALER - €24.00, BOOTS

I did expect a lot from this concealer when it first appeared in my collection, via Benefit's How To Look The Best At Everything kit. It's creamy and actually quite light, thus not quite giving enough coverage for pesky dark circles. It does blend nicely, and covers blemishes, but at a staggering €24 price tag, and I can't justify purchasing the full size product, when the high street offers such excellent alternatives!

Conclusion?

Seventeen's Phwoarr Paint concealer is my winner here, but the famous Collection Lasting Perfection is also an excellent choice. Thus, you really don't need to hit up Debenhams or the high end stands at Boots to find the perfect concealer!
